What Can I Expect when I receive a Reiki Session?
During a Reiki treatment, the client is always fully clothed lying on a treatment table. I put my hands at different points on the client's body, either according to a standard schedule or based on the client's needs.
Let the me know your needs before we start. For example, if you have trouble breathing and lying flat is uncomfortable, say so. Or mention if you have had surgery recently and don't want to be touched where the scar is still tender.
During Reiki treatment, many experience heat and/ or "tingling". The heat comes from my warm hands and spreads through your body. The body's energy flows through energy pathways in your body. It allows you to feel warmth in your feet even though I keep my hands on your shoulders.
After the treatment, a shorter conversation often follows about the client's and my experiences.
The best result is achieved through regular treatments. For new beginners, three sessions are traditional recommendation in order for you to get time to evaluate what benefits you are receiving.
What Can I Expect after a Reiki Session?
Although people typically leave a Reiki session feeling refreshed, sometimes they notice feeling more tired in the evening than usual. This is not viewed as an adverse reaction, but rather as the body's natural healing response, something to be heeded. People commonly report a sense of calm and mental clarity and sleeping well after Reiki.
Physical cleansing in the form of headaches, runny eyes, mucus in the throat, increased urine discharge or mental cleansing such as sadness or depression may occur after the treatment. These are also part of your body's and mind's healing process.
Reiki is only a complementary method.
Reiki relieves pain and dissolves tensions, both physically and mentally, lowers stress and increases well-being, but cannot replace conventional cancer care, surgery or psychiatric care.
On the other hand, Reiki can be a valuable complement to these. For example, countries like USA, UK, Ireland, France, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Germany uses Reiki in the hospital and hospice.
In case of serious medical conditions, you should always seek medical attention! If you want to supplement it with Reiki, you should always consult your doctor first.
Reiki is rehabilitative wellness
Reiki is approved as rehabilitative wellness by the Swedish Tax Agency. This means that if you have a "wellness allowance" at work, you can use it for Reiki treatments. For employers, this means that the Reiki treatments are deductible in the same way as, for example, massage.
